That every company and every person can be a part of. It won't be an easy task, but each individual can make a difference with actions like planting trees in backyards and nearby streets, or making a donation to one of the many responsible programs that have long been restoring and protecting forests from everything. the world. It is time to give back to natural ecosystems for everything they have given us.New Ventures and MetLife Foundation present SUMA, a project that aims to promote the use of strategies based on behavioral sciences to improve the financial health of low-income people. Behavioral sciences are a set of disciplines that focus their attention on human behavior; in how it is influenced by attitudes, behavior and interaction with other people.
In this sense, applying behavioral sciences in the financial sector allows us to better understand the way in which Mexicans save, spend and plan for their future. Lately, there has been an increase in the use of behavioral sciences to begin to solve situations in form and not so much in the substance of the problem. For example, actions as simple as replacing the Anhui Mobile Number List word “savings” with a more colloquial one such as “apartadito” can cause more than 50% of the users of a company that provides financial services to begin enrolling in a savings program (Common Cents Lab, 2020). For this reason, SUMA seeks to take advantage of behavioral sciences to promote people's financial health. With this objective, the program will be divided into three phases. The first, to introduce the topic and make the main characteristics of the subject known to the Latin American public.
A virtual conference will be held on March 23, 24 and 25, where different experts on the subject will share their testimony, as well as the main applications of behavioral sciences. During the second phase, 30 Mexican ventures ─dedicated to generating savings, increasing income, reducing expenses and/or debt administration and management─ will be selected to participate in the development of a behavioral map of users of financial services. With this work and the support of experts in the field, we seek to carry out a diagnosis that allows influencing the behavior of users, helping them achieve their goals. Finally, in the third phase, 6 of the 30 startups that participated in the previous phase will be selected to carry out behavioral experimentation with their users. Based on the progress of the second phase, the aim is to deepen the intervention with its end-user base.
